Notice to New Cowboy Action Shooters

All shooters must demonstrate rudimentary familiarity and proficiency with the firearms being used. Our matches are not the forums in which to learn basic firearms handling.

Even if you're an experienced shooter with other types of firearms, those used in our sport have unique characteristics with which it is essential you become familiar.

If you are new to our sport, or new to our club, please let the rangemaster know, he and the rest of us are there to help. We want everyone to have fun, but most all, have fun SAFELY!

Our Monthly Shooting Schedule

Monthly:

2nd & 4th Saturdays

4th Wednesdays

Gates open @ 8:30 a.m.

Mandatory safety meeting

@ 9:30 a.m.

Shootin' starts @ 10:00 a.m.

Our stages are covered which allows us to shoot year round. Typically, only below-freezing temperatures and ice or snow on the road to the range will cause a match to be cancelled.

The Powder Creek Cowboys is a SASS affiliated (Single Action Shooting Society) club featuring cowboy action shooting (CAS) located in Lenexa, KS. We can be easily reached from anywhere in the Metropolitan Kansas City Area, Leavenworth, KS, Lawrence, KS and Miami County, KS.

The Powder Creek Cowboys are pleased to announce the 2013 Kansas State Championship will be held at our range! Our new stage is under construction and will be completed in time for Prince of the Pistoleers. This stage will allow some new scenarios not seen before at POP!

Also new this year - side matches will be held on Thursday and the main match held on Friday and Saturday. There will be a meet & BBQ and side match awards Friday night at the range. Main match awards will be at the Saturday night banquet.
