RANGE MASTER RAMBLINGS
By Chauncey Dewey
Summer's Over
Oh those famous dying words of John Wayne in "The Cowboys", "summers over". The month of September is close to half over and I find that I'm just now sitting down to write this months ramblings. What the heck happened to August and September? Is it just me or are the days going faster? At any rate since half of September slipped by me I think I will just combine "Ramblings" for what's left of September & October.
September's a fun month as we will have had "Blazing Saddles" for our theme at all three matches. You've got to love it when you look up and an entire posse has their hats off saying, "Randolph Scott"!
October figures to be a grand time as well as we will have the Jose Wales match all month. For those of you that may have missed this one last year, it's a chance to substitute two more handguns in place of your rifle. You can even wear four pistols at one time if you are so inclined.
October should provide us some pumpkins to cut in half after Halloween so something else to look forward to. If you have whole un-carved pumpkins to donate after Halloween please let me know.
Stage 6
The board appointed a three person committee a couple of months ago to explore and design stage 6. They did a great job, put their heads together and came up with a design and a plan. Once the boys up on the hill look over the blueprints and give us the nod we should be off and running. It looks to be a livery with the ability to move downrange and eventually have a warm place to shoot from in the winter. With cooler weather on the way we should get some work done before the winter snows arrive.

South West Regional, Comin' at Cha, Clarksville Texas, Nov. 3-5
There is a pretty large force of Powder Creek boys & girls heading down to Texas the first week of November. It looks to be a good time with a large contingency from Kansas shooting at "Comin' At Cha 2012". November is a great time to visit Texas. Wish them well and hope they come back with some bounty.
